The August Wilson African American Cultural Center is currently hosting the Collections in Black exhibit, which delves into the significant contributions of African American collectors, artists, writers, and creators from the Golden Age of comics to the present. The exhibition presents Black comic book culture, featuring rare items and rich narratives around African Americans in the history of comic art. The exhibition further brings context to the City of Pittsburgh as an important and influential crossroads of the medium. 

To connect audiences in Pittsburgh with the exhibit, and to bring this important exhibit to aspiring cartoonists and leaders in the arts, Comicsburgh, Incubator Productions, and AWAAACC are joining forces to organize guided field trips of the exhibit, led by the curators DJ Big Phill and Kimberly Jacobs. The field trips will be October 25th (evening 5:30-8pm) and October 26th (afternoon 1-3pm).
